Do You Suffer From Dry Eyes?
A protective film of tears coats the eye's outer layer. New tears form in glands located around the eye and keep the moisture level in the eye balanced. This protective film is important for comfort and clear vision. Some people do not produce enough tears to keep the eyes wet and comfortable.

TearCare
TearCare is an in-office treatment for people who suffer from dry eyes. It uses electrothermal devices to warm your eyelids and unblock clogs associated with meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). The process is “blink-assisted,” in that the devices conform to your eyelids so you can blink during treatment, which takes advantage of your eye’s natural system of expressing meibum (oils that help keep your eyes moist) while blinking.
How Does it Work?
Heats the eyelid surface to an exact 113° which achieves an internal eyelid temperature of 106° to melt meibum. The lid-heating elements contain miniature circuit boards that communicate with the control unit to monitor the temperature 240 times per second. The heat treatment is applied for 15 minutes. After treatment, the Meibomian glands are gently expressed to clear any remaining obstruction.
As part of their eye care maintenance, patients should use artificial tears and warm compress after treatment.
